Lesley University, an NCAA Division III institution, encourages applicants to apply for the Assistant Softball Coaching position. This position is responsible for the coaching and supervision of the Lesley softball team, recruiting, academic progress, community service, and travel. This person works under the direction of the Head Softball Coach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the softball program in both the Fall (non-traditional season) and the spring (traditional season.)
Support coaching staff in recruitment efforts with admissions and recruiting events.
Identification, assessment, and recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
Assist the head coach and staff with individual skills and team concepts.
Attend all practices and games and assist with planning and preparation.
Assist with the planning, coordination and supervision of fundraising events.
Provide an example of leadership and competitive but sportsmanlike conduct.
Become familiar with and implement all necessary college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position, including student rights and responsibilities concerning harassment of any kind and drug and alcohol use.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Adhere to all Lesley University, New England Collegiate Conference, ECAC and NCAA rules
Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
At least one year of successful experience as a softball coach and/or player at the college level.
Working knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations.
Valid U.S. driver’s license and personal vehicle.
Excellent interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated understanding of the role of athletics within a Division III College or University.
Strong ability to support and enhance player development.
