The University of Indianapolis is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Sports Information Director staff member. This is a full-time exempt staff position.
The Assistant Sports Information staff member is responsible for the coverage of various sporting events as assigned by the Assistant AD for Media Relations and will assist with statistics, announcing of games, and writing athletic stories, as well as social media and video coverage of UIndy’s 21 athletic teams.

Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelors Degree in communications, sports administration or a related field, as well as two years progressively responsible experience in a collegiate sports information office (internships and educational experience will be considered).
• Must be proficient in Stat Crew/Automatic Scorebook statistical programs specifically for volleyball, baseball/softball, and basketball. Experience with Stat Crew/Automatic Scorebook for other sports a plus.
• Proficient in InDesign desktop publishing, Photoshop, and other basic office software programs.
. Proficient in new and social media, specifically Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, while adhering to proper grammar and University editorial guidelines.
• Ability to work on deadlines and manage several tasks simultaneously required.
Additional qualifications expected are a commitment to the philosophy of NCAA Division II and the interpersonal qualities and skills necessary to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.
Desired Education/Experience/Skills (Additional Qualifications)
Preferred Education/Experience: Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Sports broadcasting experience is a plus but not required
There are no typical hours in athletics
Evening and weekend hours
Possible travel with athletic teams
