Engineers - Mechanical
Energy, Engineering, Oil and Gas
The Energy business of Atkins has been providing engineering solutions to the Oil & Gas industry since 1975. As the world’s fourth largest global design consultancy, we provide services across a wide range of disciplines and applications covering fixed and floating offshore structures, terminals, refineries, petrochemical plants and pipelines.
As part of the expansion of Atkins’ subsea business in Houston, we are looking for a motivated mechanical or structural engineer to carry out finite element analysis on a variety of pipeline projects. A degree in mechanical or structural engineering is required and the candidate must have experience of Abacus finite element software. No prior experience of pipeline design is required, although it is preferred, but a proven ability at stress analysis is a requirement.
The successful candidate will become part of a world class engineering team: Atkins is at the forefront of design in deepwater as well as high pressure and high temperature subsea developments. The role will involve work both in designing new facilities and in assuring the integrity of existing pipelines.
Atkins has a structured Professional Development Program for our engineers and will assist the candidate in achieving their Professional Engineer license.
‘People’ and ‘Development’ are culturally part of the Atkins DNA. We empower people to develop and take responsibility early within their careers with us, knowing they have the back-up of some of the most talented people in the sector which will provide the support where needed.
