School District 181, a high performing elementary district located in the western suburbs of Chicago, consisting of seven elementary schools (ECE-5), two middle schools (6-8) and an enrollment of approximately 4,000 students, has engaged BWP and Associates to assist in the search to fill a critical administrative position. The District is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for Learning (CAI) who can collaborate effectively with the Assistant Superintendent for Learning (Pupil Services) in co-leading the Department of Learning, and carrying out assigned district initiatives. Knowledge of, and demonstrated ability in, all facets of curriculum, assessment, and instruction; technology used to support classroom instruction; social/emotional learning; and efforts related to educating students in integrated environments are all necessary. The successful candidate will assume the role beginning July 1, 2013.
Persons with proven ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholder groups and successfully engage in continuous program improvement based on data analysis are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have or be eligible to obtain Illinois Type 75 General Administrative certification. A preference will be given to candidates who also hold or are eligible for the superintendent's endorsement. Candidates should have a minimum of five years experience in the supervision of instructional staff and a minimum of ten years of broad-based curriculum work.
