Our agency is currently looking for an experienced Head Teacher to join the team. The primary objective of this position is to provide quality early childhood education to children 3 to 4 years old. Responsibilities include implementing educational programs and activities that are consistent with the Head Start Performance Standards, guiding and modeling appropriate teaching techniques and behavior for the Assistant Teacher, parents and volunteers in the classroom and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment that is developmentally appropriate a conducive for learning.
Candidates must have experience, be a team player, able to multi task and have a passion for working with 3 and 4 year old children.
All teachers should be able to:
Ensure that the children are supervised at ALL times.
Acts as a liaison between the children and parents addressing problems and answering questions regarding the children.
Create a stimulating environment for the child by conducting developmentally appropriate activities in accordance with the established curriculum.
Interacts with and provides guidance and care to all children within the center.
Change diapers and/or assists children with their toilet needs while adhering to hand washing procedures.
Greet each child and parent upon arrival at the center.
Encourage classroom participation and positive interaction with other children.
Responds to children's verbal and nonverbal indications of need and/or requests.
Conduct yourself and represent our school in a positive manner which includes showing respect for co-workers, parents and superiors.
Understand the chain of command and accepts constructive criticism and suggestions as an opportunity to improve.
Ensures appropriate set-up and shut-down of classroom on a daily basis.
Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
Assistant Teacher Qualifications:
At least 21 years old; AA in Early Childhood and or a CDA. Minimum 2 years' experience working with children.
