Founded in 1919 in Los Angeles, Braille Institute provides comprehensive programs and services for blind and visually impaired infants, youth and adults through all life phases. All programs and services are provided at no charge. Braille Institute is one of the few organizations of its type that has the Braille and Talking Book Library (a National Library Service through the Library of Congress), Braille Publishing and rehabilitation programs for all life stages for children and adults coping with and adjusting to sight loss. Los Angeles based nonprofit Braille Institute, the largest privately funded blind service agency in the nation seeks an Assistant Vice President, Marketing Communications. Minimum of ten (10) years progressive experience in management, marketing, public relations, web and mobile content, and social media. Results oriented, strategic thinker who can lead and build the department to support both regional and national programs. We want a leader who is a team player with vision to seek out promotional avenues to support fundraising, program objectives and brand awareness. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead a team who can create high impact web presences and a social media presence that engages stakeholders to help carry our message.

We are looking for senior leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of success and performance. Requires the ability to understand changing market dynamics that can be translated into actionable strategy and implemented to achieve stated objectives as set out in the marketing plan. We seek candidates with outstanding communication and presentation skills who can be a change agent to inspire strong, measurable performance to help build and expand programs. Bachelors degree in a related field is required; nonprofit experience preferred.
