Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations and Executive Director for the WKU Alumni Association
Western Kentucky University seeks an experienced leader for the position of Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations and Executive Director of the WKU Alumni Association. As Assistant Vice President, he/she is part of the Development and Alumni Relations leadership team, reporting directly to the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations. As Executive Director, this position serves as the Chief Alumni Officer for WKU with general institutional responsibility for the organization, management, and implementation of the University’s comprehensive alumni program, as well as staff leadership for the WKU Alumni Association Board of Directors, a national group of 33 volunteers.
The AVP/Executive Director will inherit a very successful program that will move in April 2013 into a beautiful new facility, the Augenstein Alumni Center. WKU, located in Bowling Green, KY, is known for the beauty of its campus and for the innovative leadership of WKU alumnus and University President Gary Ransdell (WKU Class of ’73, ’74).
The successful candidate will have five or more years of managerial experience, including working with diverse constituents. While it is not a requirement that the applicant hold a degree from WKU, the candidate should demonstrate an interest in and connection to the issues of the institution. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Travel, evening, and weekend work required. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
