Job Summary

Scholastic Classroom Magazines are looking to expand their team of creative individuals in the area of web site design and new digital content development. Our web sites support interactive educational materials for the K-12 student and teacher, and will enrich a student’s learning experience.

We are seeking a talented individual capable of producing short non-fiction videos and slide shows. Daily tasks will require editing footage and sound for publication to the web. You will work under the direction of the Video Producer with creative director and editorial.

Applicants must have experience with After Effects and a demo reel or links to examples of their work.

Core Clicks product development, one year contract position with full benefits.

Responsibilities:
Create short (two- three minute) non-fiction videos and slide-shows for the web for elementary school students grades K-5

Create the various graphic elements for the videos and slideshows

Work closely with art and editorial print magazine teams to ensure that the visual elements of videos and slide shows meet user needs and are appropriate for the target audience

Work closely with the photo and design to obtain the best video footage and hi-resolution images for selection and purchase

Capable of searching and downloading, organizing and archiving still and motion footage and audio as needed

Maintain quality and match between audio and visual

Reports to video producer working with creative director and editorial and web producers as an integral part of the digital development team

Qualifications

BFA in communication, film or media studies

Minimum of 2-4 years post production relevant professional experience

Demo reel demonstrating the use of motion graphics

A whimsical sensibility and the ability to create an exciting and visual narrative for kids

Highly Proficient in After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator

Strong understanding of Final Cut or Avid, Pro-tools and compression software

Familiarity with stock agencies and photo research a major plus

Excellent visual design sense and communication skills

Good team skills and strong work ethic

High attention to detail

Knowledge of Spanish and Flash a plus

Passion for education and helping children
