This position is responsible for providing assistance in all phases of operation and coaching of an NCAA Division I volleyball program at the University of Colorado at Boulder, which will include promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement, Guiding Principles, and its policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Pac 12 Conference and the NCAA .

Posting Description
Job Duties:
The assistant volleyball coach will assist the head coach in all phases of building a nationally competitive volleyball program. The assistant volleyball coach will be responsible for coaching players in all positions during practices and games as assigned by the head coach. This position will be responsible for scouting activities for match preparation as assigned by the head coach. This will be approximately 40% of the responsibilities.

The assistant volleyball coach will be responsible for both in-state and out-of-state recruiting. Will be responsible for identifying, evaluating and maintaining contact with recruits and their parents. Will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with high school and club coaches. Will also assist with all phases of general recruiting. This will include travel, both in-state and out-of-state, for purposes of evaluating and contacting recruits. This shall be approximately 40% of the responsibilities.

Responsible for communicating internally and work closely with Academics, Equipment, Media Relations to assist in monitoring athletes and promote their success. Shall attend administrative meetings. This shall be approximately 10% of the responsibilities.

Responsible for assisting in all phases of running summer volleyball camps, including coaching during each camp. Will assist with the planning, preparation, and running of the summer camps as directed by the Head Coach. This shall be approximately 5% of the responsibilities.

Responsible for promotion and outreach activities as assigned by the head coach or by the outreach office or as he/she deems appropriate. Will be responsible for always presenting the volleyball program in a positive manner to the public, the University community, the team, and potential recruits. This will be approximately 5% of the responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years Division I experience coaching volleyball
Note: Volleyball playing or coaching experience with a Professional team or National team program may substitute for the coaching experience.
- Administrative experience and knowledge of office management computing
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to use various forms of office equipment, execute volleyball skills at a reasonable level, and be able to travel

Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and abilities

Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- 3 years coaching Division I level athletes with notable competitive success
- Previous experience successfully evaluating and recruiting top level prospects
- Experience training volleyball athletes in PAC 12 or comparable league
