The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University is seeking an outstanding faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Biomedical Science. This position is intended for faculty with major effort in teaching and scholarly activities in Geriatric Medicine and/or Palliative Care. The specific role is flexible and will include a combination of direct teaching, developing instructional materials, student advising, curriculum design, assessment of student performance; scholarly activity including research in Geriatric Medicine, Gerontology, and or Palliative Care; and other roles as determined by the developing needs of the College of Medicine. Opportunities to provide clinical care and medical administrative services in Geriatrics, Hospice, and/or Palliative Care may also be developed. Faculty with expertise in Geriatric Medicine and/or Palliative Care may apply.
Our mission is to produce graduates who are prepared and motivated to play a central role in the achievement of three critical state goals: (1) providing the highest quality health care to Florida's citizens; (2) assuring that the state has the requisite number of medical faculty required to support Florida's medical schools and assure continued access to medical education opportunities in Florida; and (3) producing physician-scientists with the knowledge and skills required to transform healthcare and biomedical research in the state. Faculty will collaborate in the development of the four year curriculum.

Requirements: M.D. or D.O. from an accredited institution and credentials that merit appointment at the rank of assistant professor or higher and board certification or eligibility in Geriatric Medicine and/or Palliative Care. Applicants must have significant teaching experience with medical students, demonstrated teaching excellence and training in research methods. Preferred candidates will have a track record of scholarly activity and funded research in a relevant field. The ability to effectively communicate with a variety of students and employees from widely diverse backgrounds is required.
