    Assistant or Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics

    Position Description: This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with responsibilities in teaching (9-credit hours per semester), research, and service. The successful candidate is expected to assist with the development of a strong, regionally recognized and nationally competitive, teaching, research, and service program focusing on agricultural entrepreneurship, sales, and marketing. The program is expected to produce graduates who are effective agricultural practitioners that can identify and maximize new opportunities and are capable of creating and managing profitable agricultural enterprises. The candidate’s research and service are expected to include community outreach directed toward improving and promoting the local foods industry and farmers markets.

    - PhD in Agricultural Economics or closely related field by time of appointment
    - Training and experience in agricultural entrepreneurship, sales, and marketing
    - Evidence of strong interests and skills in undergraduate teaching and advising
    - Demonstrated excellence in oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    - Demonstrated ability to work well with others
    - Record of publication in refereed journals
