Florida International University (FIU) invites nominations and applications for the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Director of the PhD Program of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The College of Nursing and Health Sciences at FIU offers the following degree programs: undergraduate and graduate Nursing, Doctorate in Nursing Practice, Ph.D. in nursing, Bachelor in Health Services Administration, Master of Science in Athletic Training Education, Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and Doctorate in Physical Therapy. More than 160,000 alumni live and work in South Florida. The position is a full-time, 12-month appointment with primary responsibility in the administration of the College's Research agenda. Candidates are required to have a doctorate in nursing or a health related profession from an accredited institution. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of academic administrative experience in mentoring faculty and developing research programs, an established record of successful externally funded research commensurate with Associate/Full Professor and a strong record of outstanding scholarship and publication. Three to five years of appropriate teaching experience, primarily in a post masters/graduate program is preferred. The successful candidate must have a record of creative work, professional writing or research in referred and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in their respective profession.
