Western & Southern Financial Group has an immediate opportunity for a Associate Analyst.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsible for the support of quality assurance initiatives for various Enterprise insurance administration and peripheral systems. Using application/technical knowledge of those systems, along with knowledge of the portfolio of Enterprise insurance products, participates in the product implementation process and other corporate projects. Responsible for supporting changes to administrations systems with Information Services and appropriate system vendors. Aids in the development and execution of test plans for implementation of new products and/or system enhancements. Also participates in problem resolution regarding administration system processes employed by the business units of Insurance Operations.
Other duties include the development of new forms or changes to existing forms related to the insurance processes associated with product administration by the Insurance Operations’ business units as a result of new product development, state regulatory requirements and filings and corporate projects. Additional duties can include support of Technical Services Training Division in the development and delivery of training applications and processes.
Operates under the guidance of Technical Services Analysts, Sr. Technical Services Analysts and Technical Services management in the implementation of administration system changes and in the development and employment of appropriate test plans and test matrixes.

Position Requirements

Position Responsibilities:
•Contributes in defining business requirements for new and existing operational systems.
•Works with Information Services and other business units defining appropriate processing procedures to be used within each system.
•Analyzes the processing functionality for new systems and changes to existing system ensuring business requirements will be met.
•Aids in the maintenance of system rules engine and code-driving database tables.
•Aids in the coding and maintenance of appropriate system files, such as plan file and plan tables, for product plans, riders and benefits, interest rates, accounting, agent’s commission and product rates which drive programming logic and calculation.
•Assists in the development and execution of accurate and comprehensive test plans and test matrixes for testing the implementation of new products or enhancements in the Enterprise administration and peripheral systems.
•Researches and analyzes problems or errors, and determines next steps of action (correction or referral). Responsible for follow-up of such action and regularly communicating status of correction to the various business units. Coordinates the efforts of Technical Services and/or other referrals, such as Information Services, ensuring that all corrections are appropriately implemented and tested for quality and completeness.
•Performs policy form verification for new and existing products. Maintains all existing policy forms and applications ensuring they are compliant with corresponding state regulations.
•Researches, designs and drafts forms, tables and flow charts along with other compliance-related Insurance Operations functions as assigned. Coordinates activities with Compliance, Forms Document Management, Printing, Information Services and units within Insurance Operations to accomplish forms/compliance-related projects, always maintaining quality service within specified time frames.
•Reviews Insurance Department objections to policy form filings and schedules implementation of approved forms. Assists Technical Services Analysts with testing of system changes required to implement state variations of approved policy and other related forms as required by product development or legislative changes.
•Reviews advance law notices and legislative bulletins to determine impact on Insurance Operations and communicate to the appropriate people. Writes legislation summaries and submits to affected departmental manager. Writes and initiates draft of all legislative requests for processing if necessary.
•Maintains reference documentation relating to form filings and implementation.
•Monitors information published on the Internet regarding legislative initiatives (ACLI, INSOURCE, NAIC, etc.).
•Supports the creation and maintenance of training and procedural manuals following standardized documentation formatting requirements.
•Support of other miscellaneous training applications and processes.
•Supports the maintenance of reinsurance treaty information provided by Actuarial Department. Performs functionality, operational, regression and/or parallel testing on the appropriate reinsurance systems, ensuring new and existing products are processed in accordance with product characteristics and business requirements.
•Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Selection Criteria:
•Must be able to cite examples from work experience on identifying problems, researching and quantifying the problems, logically solving the problems and implementing creative solutions.
•Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Insurance Products, including benefits, riders and various administration processes or at least the aptitude to quickly learn the above subject matter.
•Must be able to cite examples of solving medium to complex problems using mathematical, logical and technological skills.
•Demonstrated aptitude for learning computer and other technical concepts such as database, table-driven code, testing tools. Must be able to cite examples of quickly learning new technological concepts and applying them to business needs.
•Possesses and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner.
•Provide examples from work experience of maintaining a high degree of accuracy associated with high volumes of work and/or multiple duties.

Educational Requirements:
•High school diploma/GED.
Computer skills and knowledge of hardware & software required:
•Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Certifications & licenses (i.e. Series 6 & 63, CPA, etc.):
•None required.
