Directs and has primary responsibility for the compliance of the University with current NCAA and SEC rules and regulations regarding member institutions, and develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with rules and regulations. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: compiling squad lists; provides education sessions on SEC and NCAA rules; provides clear and concise interpretations of NCAA and SEC rules; monitors all recruiting and eligibility issues; oversees initial eligibility and continuing eligibility; writes waivers and NCAA reports; and engages in APR discussions and decisions.
The minimum qualifications are a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Sports Administration, Management, Business Administration, or related field and 8 years experience in administering a compliance program that includes interpreting and applying athletic rules and regulations set by NCAA and SEC. Employer will consider advanced degrees in lieu of experience. Extensive knowledge of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Southeastern Conference (SEC) rules and regulations; budget planning and analysis, accounting principles and safety guidelines are required.
The following qualifications are desired: additional years of experience working at NCAA, Division I Conference Office or Division I Compliance Office; thorough understanding of Compliance Assistant Internet; experience presenting in front of large groups; thorough understanding of NCAA governance process; and experience working in a FBS Compliance Office.
