Purpose of Position:
Provide multi-dimensional business intelligence analytics support to the Business Intelligence team and all other AFN departments to drive sales, profitability and revenue growth.

Main Accountabilities:
1. Provide analytical support to all AFN internal departments and external Customers and Carriers

Analyze historical trends to identify key driving factors behind successful business growth
Maintain the set of metrics and driving factors essential to long term business growth
Monitor transportation provider utilization and gather input on flow desirability from procurement department
Maintain forecasting and financial models to drive improved business performance and alignment
Present analytical findings and recommendations to AFN business units
Understand and identify gaps in internal and external processes

2. Support reporting functions of the team members from start to finish

Ensure timely execution of daily reporting assignments
Coordinate with the BI Analyst to investigate trends and learn data validation techniques
Run the standard operating reports (on time, lane revenue reports, etc)
Benchmark lanes against external and internal market trends
Understand and analyze the logic behind lane desirability based on current AFN business goals and objectives
Maintain standard base cost database for US and Canadian flows based on the business partner input and historical data
Coordinate with the BI Analyst to investigate trends and learn data validation techniques

3. Collaborate with BI team members to enable greater levels of contribution to the organization

Create and format presentation materials for account management teams
Work with other members of the BI team to create standard meeting materials (agendas, notes, conference reports)
Participate in projects to build, test and implement new processes and systems
Communicate areas of success and failure as it pertains to customer shipments and service
Continuously build strong internal partnerships with AFN representatives to support customer strategy
Continually improve knowledge of AFN’s internal systems and external solution capabilities and drive best practices to become the subject knowledge expert
Uncover issues and perform further analysis to ensure data accuracy

4. Fulfill other duties as required

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required, business, economics, finance, or information management preferred
Previous analytical work preferred
Strong analytical skills required
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Access/PowerPoint required
Experience developing ongoing relationships
