Qualifications Summary:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and at least 1 year of experience in a related field (Accounting and/or Contracts & Grants preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to read and interpret various accounting documents: income statements, balance sheets, project details, purchase orders, etc.

Job Description Summary:
Will perform accounting functions related to post award grants administration: Interpret contract and grant requirements and funding agency guidelines. Maintain budgets and approve expenditures. Ensure that interim financial reporting as required by the funding agency is completed in an accurate and timely manner. Prepare expense transfers, budget adjustments, and the like providing sufficient explanations that will meet internal and external audit requirements. Advise PI on a monthly basis of the financial status of accounts; project possible problem areas. Forecast financial scenarios, and make sound recommendations for spending plans. Coordinate final fiscal, progress and invention reports to external agencies for grant closeout. Prepare and execute necessary documentation for consortium agreements and perform sub-recipient monitoring tasks. Analyze and advise on status of personnel on projects approaching close-out. Work with Pre-Award Contracts & Grants Administrator to notify PI of progress report submission deadlines, as necessary. Interact with researchers, their staff and agency personnel, answering questions related to grant activity. May perform additional duties as required.
