The Associate Dean of Curriculum and Academic Services plays a central role in developing and leading the educational activities of the College of Medicine. This position is responsible for overall academic planning; curriculum development and review; and faculty development. The Associate Dean of Curriculum and Academic Services provides a leadership role in shaping academic policy and practice and in sustaining academic standards consistent with programmatic accreditation.
1.Provides leadership in the development and continual improvement of programs to raise the quality of teaching and learning, to encourage faculty service, professional growth and creative work, and to promote the cultural and intellectual growth and diversity of the campus community.
2.Responsible for the identification of new initiatives and the performance of all appropriate duties necessary to ensure the continual improvement and smooth operation of the College of Medicine program.
3.Serves as an administrative liaison within the College of Medicine and Division of Academic Affairs and is responsible for the development and maintenance of effective communications on academic matters within the campus community and external constituencies.
4.Convenes the Curriculum Management and Assessment Committee ( CMAC ) and sits on various committees representing matters related to the curriculum and academic services. Serves as a member of the Committee on Academic and Professional Progress ( CAPP ).
5.Responsible for maintaining an active teaching role within the curriculum depending on candidate expertise and College of Medicine needs.
6.Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, College of Medicine (Vice Dean).

The successful candidate must possess an M.D. or D.O. and have distinguished record of innovative leadership, scholarly accomplishments and excellence in administration. The Associate Dean of Curriculum and Academic Services will have vision of future medical education and the skills to articulate that vision to faculty and students. This individual must be capable of building on the strengths of the College of Medicine to enhance the established academic programs and establish new opportunities.
