Job Description

The Associate Director Supply Chain will be responsible for achieving, and further advancing, Starwood contracting and program strategies across all areas of sourcing and supply chain management in order to deliver the specified products and services to the area Starwood hotels at the lowest total cost of ownership. Principal responsibilities include: Aggregating, negotiating and documenting new agreements for the area hotel group; optimizing existing agreements; managing supplier and hotels leadership relationships; assisting leadership in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies at the area level; operating as an area leader of the Supply Chain team.

55% - Execute aggregated contracting for the area hotel group to deliver optimal and sustainable quality and price. Directly conduct all facets of supplier negotiations and/or formal RFP's including negotiating terms and conditions, analyzing proposals, providing final award recommendations and supporting analytics, completing the contract execution process, and overseeing implementation / roll-out.

30% - Manage supplier relationships via regular oversight and vendor performance reviews, in support of contracted programs and hotel goals. Monitor supplier capabilities to ensure that all quality, cost and service expectations are met. Regularly collaborate with vendors of ongoing contracts to identify opportunities for further cost reductions.

10% - Align with Sourcing Leadership, the Rooms, IT, Engineering and F&B Operations Team, and other internal stakeholders to insure achievement of overall strategies. Provide support and necessary coordination of vendors and products on behalf hotel teams in support of goals.

5% - Monitor local vendors, city and state programs, respective commodity markets, develop strategies and present appropriate recommendations.

Requirements

  • Minimum seven years of direct and relevant procurement/sourcing experience with a track record of strong performance.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, contract management, relationship management, and project management skills, and knowledge of business and contract law related to corporate products and services required
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred (Post graduate and/or other certifications a plus)
  • Demonstrated understanding and/or experience contracting area commodities/distribution preferred
  • Proven performance demonstrating cross functional collaboration, flexibility, ability to prioritize, and communicate complex information clearly and concisely preferred
  • Familiarity with assigned market
  • Travel required for role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • GPO experience preferred
