AIG Property Casualty is seeking an Accounting I Financial Reporting for our New York office.
Assist in preparing quarterly Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Capital Funds, with all the supporting schedules for the 10K/10Q disclosures.
Prepare and record journal entries; create supporting documentation and ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
Recommend, test, and implement changes to the consolidations system on an on-going basis to comply with required disclosures, legal entity changes, and/or internal management requirements.
Build reports and queries out of the consolidation tool and map them to the appropriate supporting disclosure schedules.
Review, analyze and adjust financial reporting package submissions from international subsidiaries.
Prepare various analysis and detailed schedules on a quarterly basis to be submitted to corporate including the reporting of inter-company Balance Sheet and P&L.
Assist with corporate initiatives to minimize the closing process by utilizing technology and accelerating key deliverables.
Assist with the implementation of corporate initiatives including systems and process changes.
Ensure key risks and issues relating to financial reporting are identified, documented, and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders and senior management in a timely manner.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in financial reporting.
B.A. / B.S. degree in the field of accounting is required. Previous public Accounting experience is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills are essential.
Previous experience with systems implementations is helpful.
Insight and knowledge of the Insurance industry is preferred.
Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timeliness of requests and make the necessary adjustments as required.
