This position will play a key role in leading the development, deployment and support of our broad-based suite of learning for leaders at all levels of the organization. This position will take a lead role in creating targeted development that is consistent with the emerging Biogen Idec (BIIB) Leadership model, and that supports leaders to ensure a high level of success as they navigate critical leadership transitions and as they grow meaningful careers here at BIIB. This position will ensure that all leaders understand, are skilled, and are supported to lead others in a way that is consistent with our core behaviors and our leadership model (aka the BIIB Way). This position will also develop key learning interventions to help drive and support meaningful cultural change (e.g. The Meetings that Matter work, etc.).

Requisition Number

The successful candidate will have 8 – 10 years of experience working internally within complex organizations in the fields of leadership development, training & organizational development, consulting, facilitation, change management, coaching, or a related field

Mandatory skills and capabilities include:
• Deep understanding of how adults learn and an ability to weave adult learning principles into every aspect of our work
• Deep experience in learner-centered and engaging (e.g. non-didactic, non-lecture oriented) instructional design and an easily articulated and working pedagogy
• Very strong teaching and facilitation skills (comfort on feet in front of many different size groups and with leaders at all levels)
• Comfort with executive audiences and with executive presentation
• Very strong consulting and client-interface skills
• Deep and skillful listener
• Experience (and preferably training or certification) in executive and business coaching
• Experience with interpreting and delivering multiple instruments including 360’s (CCL Benchmarks a plus), the MBTI, DiSC, Insight, the suite of Hogan instruments, etc
• Ability to interact with leaders at all levels of the organization (including the C-suite)
• Demonstrated success in creating and rolling out organization-wide interventions
• Strong understanding of organizational change
• Strong organizational agility and emotional intelligence
• High tolerance for ambiguity

Bachelor’s degree required (Business, HR, Psychology or related major is preferred): Master’s degree preferred (Adult Education, Organizational Development, Leadership Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business); Ph.D. / Ed.D. is a plus
