BS/BA and MBA required; biological science degree helpful: oncology/hematology or specialty experience preferred
The Associate Director, Market Access Analytical Lead will provide holistic insight-driven consultation to all levels of internal stakeholders via primary/secondary market research analyses. This role is responsible for developing and executing marketing research plans and strategies for the market access team that support all brands in current portfolio.
The expanding pipeline, combined with an evolving and challenging market access environment, requires leadership to apply a capability that can uncover insights and anticipate the future market, leading to appropriate value propositions for the company assets.
This individual will manage the US market access market research projects for across the portfolio. This position will work closely with the US Market Access Marketing Team, Pricing, and Forecasting, Contracting teams, global market access and rest of the Market Research organization. Candidate will oversee a team of 1 analyst.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
The Associate Director, Market Access Analytical lead will be responsible for assisting in the development and advancement of the organization capability related to market access insights and execution of market access research projects supporting the Celgene portfolio (Oncology and Hematology) of development assets.
Key responsibilities include Assisting in the development and implementation of US market access research capability supporting pre-launch assets and in line assets across the portfolio.
Developing and driving best practices across brand guiding the US market asset strategies and value propositions of assets by both leveraging understanding of current payer objectives, motivations, and behaviors, as well as anticipating the future market and drivers of value.
Partnering with marketing market access teams to provide strategic insights to support the development of US market access strategies.
Leading and executing market research and analytic projects to guide market access and pricing decisions.
Responsible for supporting the Managed Markets Payer strategy across the portfolio in alignment with overall brand strategy.
Help understand Market Access drivers and barriers to our products.
Works with Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Sales Forecasting, Channel Marketing to design research vehicles and provide input for both tactical and strategic decision-making.
TRAVEL: Some travel. Ability to travel to key meetings and oncology conventions
- Required to have a fundamental understanding of pharmaceutical business and of specialty markets(preferable Oncology)
- Team player working easily with a variety of functions, and possessing well developed follow through capability
- In-depth strategic thinking and creative problem solving skills.
- BS/BA required; biological science degree helpful but not required
- MBA required
- 6-7+ years of market research experience with a minimum of 3 years experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry and in the market access area.
- Hematology / Oncology markets experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of statistical analytical and market research techniques
- Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required including presentation experience to all management levels
- PC literate including Word, PowerPoint, Access software, and advanced Excel skills
