Associate Director, Recruiting and Admissions

Location : Boston, MA

About the Position :
Education Pioneers is committed to building a robust pipeline of leaders to drive mission-critical work at education organizations across the country. The Associate Director will lead and manage the execution of our recruiting strategy and admissions process to identify and select a racially and socioeconomically diverse cadre of leaders into our Graduate School Fellowship and Analyst Fellowship programs nationwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to oversee a large-scale process during a period of significant growth. Reporting to the Director of Recruitment and Admissions, the Associate Director will manage a four-person team and will interact with regional staff to provide updates and gather input on our recruiting and admissions efforts. This is an exempt position which is located in Boston and requires 20% national travel.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
  • Oversee and guide execution of key process steps in the recruiting and admissions cycle
  • Confirm finalized recruiting presentation schedule
  • Monitor campus and employer outreach throughout the cycle
  • Supervise progress on candidate screening and interviews
  • Track offer recommendations and offers made by regions
  • Oversee conversion efforts and the candidate transfer process
  • Support the candidate matching process as needed
Track progress and report out on key metrics
  • Provide regions and other EP teams with a regular overview of progress to date on recruiting and admission targets
  • Select and guide mid-cycle process changes as needed
Provide feedback on design of the selection strategy
  • Review drafts of changes to selection strategy content to provide comments based on experience and process feasibility
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the Director of Recruiting and Admissions
  • Review proposed changes to recruiting and admissions processes or approaches
  • Consult Director of Recruiting and Admissions on budget and staffing decisions
Coach, manage, and develop staff
  • Assess performance of staff and provide coaching to four person team
  • Identify development opportunities and career pathways for team members
  • Establish strong performance and accountability culture on the team so that staff are highly productive and grow professionally
  • Work with the Director of Recruiting and Admissions and the Human Assets team to identify, hire and retain high-performing individuals
  • Serve as the primary contact for region Directors and EDs

Experience and Qualifications :
  • Professional experience in an organization with a national office and distributed regional activities
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Graduate degree preferred
  • Experience managing large processes with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to balance upfront planning and mid-course corrections
  • Proven ability to coach and develop direct reports
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
