The Center for HIV/AIDS Educational Studies and Training (CHEST) of Hunter College, City University of New York, is hiring for a full- time receptionist position. CHEST (www.chestnyc.org) is an internationally recognized multidisciplinary research center which blends academic and community-based work focused on sexual health, HIV/AIDS, LGBT issues, and substance use. Associate Director of Administration: A full-time position to assist in the coordination of multiple federally funded grants in the areas of HIV prevention, drug/alcohol abuse, and HIV medication adherence coupled with responsibility for general oversight and management of the office; providing oversight and direction on a broad range of day-to-day projects and administrative tasks.
Other Duties:
Responsibilities:
• Monitoring of the progress of grant-funded projects
• Administration of multiple grant accounts
• Assist in the preparation of progress reports, IRB documents and other materials
• Management of project staff; assigns and monitors work, orients and trains professional staff
• Oversight of time and leave, complies with performance management policies, drafts performance evaluations of staff, recommends related personnel actions
• Evaluate and resolve administrative matters
• Provide guidance on protocol or process and deciding priorities
• Prepare replies, initiates action and determines priorities on matters not specifically requiring the attention of the Director
• Develop processes to improve and streamline administrative operations
• Maintain/monitor financial accounts; oversee petty cash receipts and distribution. Salary: Commensurate with experience

Core Competencies/Qualifications:
Requirements:
• A minimum of a BA (advanced degree preferred) plus 2-years experience, excellent communication and organizational skills; and supervisory experience
• Knowledge of NIH grants process a plus. Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
