Title: Associate Director for Compliance
Act as one of the Office of Athletics’ liaisons to the NCAA and the Big East Conference in regards to association and conference rules interpretation and enforcement.
Act as one of the Office of Athletics’ liaisons to University officials related to rules compliance for Accounts Payable, Bursar, Financial Aid, Conference Services and Residence Life.
Maintain a comprehensive compliance program for all financial aid activities for each sport program.
Maintain each sports program’s NCAA squad lists.
Maintain a comprehensive monitoring and approval program for St. John’s University camps and clinics.
Maintain a comprehensive registration process for Agents and Financial Advisors.
Assist the Director with all initial and continuing eligibility certification for student-athletes.
Assist the Director with educational workshops and outreach efforts for all coaches, student-athletes, University officials and alumni.
Assist the Director in reporting on all annual NCAA membership requirements.
Assist the Director with waiver submissions to the NCAA.
Assist the Director in monitoring complimentary admissions requests from student-athletes, coaches and staff for inter-collegiate contests.
Assist the Director in maintaining a comprehensive monitoring program of all compliance related activities.
Assist the Director in reviewing and maintaining all exit interview surveys for departing student-athletes.
BA or BS, Graduate Degree preferred
Five years or more of compliance and/or university administration experience is preferred
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Evidence of strong organizational, computer, and communication skills required
The position requires a person to pay close attention to detail and be comfortable with using various computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Office, BANNER, CAi, LSDBi).
The position requires a person to be able to work well in a team setting and also independently.
The position requires someone with initiative and an energy level that will enable the individual to work long hours.
The position does include some occasional evening and weekend assignments.
This position is subject to a comprehensive background screen, with employment contingent upon satisfactory results. If access to a University vehicle is required for the position, a DMV check for driving record and valid driver’s license is also required.
Annual Salary Range: $60,000. - $70,000.
