A Master’s degree in an appropriately related field to the position’s specialty together with one to four years of related work experience. Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following areas:
A demonstrated understanding of undergraduate academic enrollment requirements, assessment of college readiness, and of undergraduate curricula appropriate to the College’s offerings;
A demonstrated knowledge and competence in advising students and applicant regarding academic courses appropriate for their preparation and career goals;
A demonstrated ability to meet and interact favorably with students, parents, school officials and others in academic environments;
A demonstrated competence in marketing and recruitment in academic environments;
Strong information technology literacy skills;
A demonstrated understanding of the community college mission, philosophy, and student population;

The Associate Director of Admissions performs a full range of admissions advising and student recruiting services to attract and retain students meeting the enrollment requirements of a two-year Connecticut Community College which has open enrollment and which offers degree and certificate programs in a broad range of liberal arts, transfer, occupational and career studies. While the focus of the position is on outreach to students, parents, schools and community organizations, the position also performs enrollment operations services to facilitate the effective processing of student enrollment applications. All these services support the accountability to attract and retain sufficient numbers of students with appropriate academic and experiential preparation to meet the College’s enrollment standards and goals and to provide professional guidance to applicants on academic programs best suited to their capabilities and career goals. The incumbent is expected to represent the College in a positive manner. They may be required to travel to such locations as schools, business offices and community facilities and to meet with and to make presentations to key officials of schools and civic groups. Incumbents are required to be licensed to drive a private passenger automobile or to arrange for alternate transportation. Evening and weekend hours may be required. Minimum Salary

$57,739 approximate annual plus excellent State medical insurance, retirement and related fringe benefits.
