Identifies and manages major gift prospects; cultivates, solicits, and provides stewardship; and works closely with the senior development officer to foster and develop the Jacobs School of Music’s donor and volunteer base. Writes proposals, works on planned gifts, and aids in event planning. Oversees and develops the strategic plan for the Jacobs School of Music Alumni Music Relations Program in consort with the senior development officer.

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree and two years of development/fundraising or closely related experience.
Strong knowledge of fundraising activities and strong interpersonal skills and judgment suitable for exercising appropriate discretion. Expert ability to communicate verbally and in writing and to analyze and organize data. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to work nights and weekends traveling and/or attending Jacobs School of Music performances and events to build relationships.
Preferred: Experience in a performing arts organization and/or background in music.
