POSITION: Associate Director of Development
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience
PERIOD OF APPOINTMENT: Full time, twelve month position
Bachelor’s Degree required. Two years' collegiate athletic fundraising experience required, preferably within a Division I institution. Event coordination and experience with Advantage and Advance fundraising software preferred. Adobe creative suite proficiency preferred. Experience in major gift giving preferred. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations preferred. Candidates with experience serving the needs of diverse populations are strongly desired. The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively with administrators, staff and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Position is subject to a criminal background check.
Work as member of the UO Athletics and Duck Athletic Fund’s Portland satellite office Development team with fundraising responsibilities in Portland, northern Oregon Coast, Salemand designated Washington areas. Primarily responsible for development activities with the DAF’s annual fund with a goal of building a major gift portfolio.
Serve as Athletic Department’s primary annual fund Development Officer for Portland, Oregon Coast and designated Washington areas. Manage and organize the DAF volunteer annual fund drive for assigned territories. Assist with department ticket sales, marketing, and public relations in assigned regions.
Regularly communicate with existing and prospective annual fund donors through personal visits, phone calls, correspondence and events with a goal of increasing current year gifts and identifying new prospects. Establish and maintain corporate relationships to increase donation levels and season tickets.
Support team development efforts by becoming proficient with existing ticketing and development databases (Paciolan, Advantage and Advance).
Serve as Athletic Department liaison to the booster organizations (Oregon Clubs) in Portland, northern coast, Seattle and Salem.
Serve as Athletic Department liaison to UO Portland Advancement team.
Act as a major gift fundraiser working to build own portfolio by identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts for capital projects, endowments and special projects.
Help fundraising team develop and implement a comprehensive prospecting plan for university alumni, with an emphasis on high-end annual ($2,500+) and major gift ($100K+) prospects using tools provided by the Office of Prospect Management and Analytics.
Work to manage a portfolio of primarily new/discovery prospects, seeking to grow the pool of engaged alumni, parents, friends and corporate supporters.
Create written proposals and case statements for solicitation of individuals and organizations. Coordinate clearance with other development officers and administrators.
Conduct stewardship, including gift acknowledgements/thank you correspondence, recognition, communications and special events.
Collaborate with development staff, coaches, program directors, other university administrators, and volunteers to identify, qualify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors.
Performs special duties and projects as requested by Athletic Department.
