The Associate Director the PACT will supervise a highly accessible, well-trained professional staff in the areas of residence life, student activities & clubs, student government, judicial affairs as well as career and academic advancement in the provision of integrated services and programs in the areas of career exploration and development, academic advising, personal communication skills development and leadership. The Associate and staff will provide a variety of highly integrated services and programs to support academic success, student development and a positive college transition. The Associate Director will also serve as a liaison, between certain on/off-campus departments and services, fostering a collaborative student service oriented campus culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support students in their transition to the College, and integrate new students into the intellectual, cultural, and social life of the College resulting in the improvement of retention and graduation outcomes.
  • Hire, train, and manage the performance of staff.
  • Develop and assess student engagement programs and services resulting in a quality experience including, but not limited to, residential life, clubs & activities, judicial and student government.
  • Support the academic, career and personal development advisement of students, specifically through the progression of the initial registration upon acceptance to major/degree selection, career track and personal development.
  • Supervise staff for pre-enrollment and orientation activities reinforcing the importance of a collective, integrated college experience geared toward academic, career and personal success.
  • Teach student success and career/life planning workshops.
  • Work specifically with a select student caseload portfolio.
  • Support the career exploration resources and advisement of students, resulting in a timely career track relative/paralleled to academic pursuits.
  • Support the student engagement programs and services resulting in a quality experience for Mercy College students.
  • Assist in the evaluation of strategies and programs and implement changes as necessary.

  • Education Required or Min Education Required:
    Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience in student services and advisement as well as all aspects of student life will be given preference.
