The Associate Director of Residential Life is responsible for supporting the retention goals of the College by assisting the Director of Residential Life in all aspects of campus living including student staff supervision, hall programming, student support and conduct, and room assignments. The Associate Director is responsible for coordination of the resident assistant program include hiring, selection, training and evaluation of student staff. The Associate Director resides on campus and shares 24-hour "on-call" status with one Assistant Director of Residential Life and two Residence Life Coordinators. This position requires flexibility to work weekends and evenings when necessary.
Master's degree required, preferably in college student personnel services or counseling. The Associate Director of Residential Life must have two to four years of residence life experience which may include graduate assistantship. Must have the ability to solve problems and handle multiple tasks and priorities. Demonstrated leadership skills are required. The Associate Director must be a team player and be willing to work with students, faculty, and staff. Must possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Must have a demonstrated commitment to issues of diversity and a success in creating inclusive communities. Position requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
