Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
Develop and write daily content to engage readers
Execute the “extras” that make the site more compelling and interactive (slideshows/contests/videos/etc.)
Build a web “voice” that complements the magazine
Work with Zumba Fitness marketing and social media to promote this content via their channels.
Act as a key player in Z-LIFE social media strategy.
Assigning, writing, and editing FOB and BOB department content as needed as well as support for special Z-LIFE publications such as convention/conference guides and upcoming business pub
Photo research and product attainment
Reviewing all content, with emphasis on house usage and style, line editing, formatting
Managing the distribution/approval process with the Publisher
Brainstorming , pitching, and shaping ideas for monthly lineups that show a knowledge of and connection to the Zumba community.
Act as central project contact for monthly ZIN newsletter and facilitate flow of information between departments
Develop print order and mailing list
Upload and link check digital edition
Manage advertising and editorial comp list
Must have 3-5 years working on an editorial team
Strong writing and proofing skills
Strong knowledge of CMS
Minimum of 2 years experience writing for digital/social media environments
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Active in the digital world
Comfortable with evolving technologies
Eager to communicate new and effective approaches to gaining new readers
Well versed in publishing industry standards and culture
Able to handle multiple projects at once
A true love of magazines
Strong organizational skills
Knowledge of and interest in health and fitness topics
Prolific writer and editor
