Duties and Responsibilities

Fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of the radio-frequency (RF) equipment used in large-scale satellite downlink and uplink operations; such as waveguide assemblies, cables, and fiber-optic systems.

Performs component-level troubleshooting required on High-Power Amplifiers (HPA).

Fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of the radio-frequency (RF) equipment used in large-scale satellite downlink and uplink operations; such as waveguide assemblies, cables, and fiber-optic systems.

Performs component-level troubleshooting required on High-Power Amplifiers (HPA), fiber-optic systems, up converters, down converters, RF switching units, Antenna Control Units (ACUs), Low-Noise Amplifiers (LNAs) and Low-Noise Block Down converters (LNBs), and switching and/or monitoring audio/video equipment.

Performs maintenance and repair on large transmit/receive and receive-only satellite antenna systems.

Provide sketches of drawings required for equipment installation.

Position requires shift work on one month shift rotation.

Skills and Qualifications

Degree in Electronics from an accredited college or technical school or equivalent experience.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts including algebra.

Three to four years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3+ years earth station systems experience and/or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to lift 75 lbs.

Ability to climb 39 foot antennas and maintain/repair satellite dishes

System level and bench level electronics troubleshooting experience.

Operational configurations awareness and routine preventative maintenance skills required.

Must be able to perform shift work as a cohesive part of a team and with minimal supervision.

The ability to read and interpret schematics, assemble wave guide systems, efficiently utilize sophisticated test equipment, perform documentation tasks, and successfully interact with management & engineers is a must
