EchoStar is seeking to hire an Associate Engineer who will monitor, troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments to audio, video and RF equipment via remote connections.

Duties and Responsibilities

Troubleshoot Standard as well as High Definition outages and discrepancies.

Establish good working relationships with providers engineering staff, LRF site personnel, Field Engineers, Regional Uplinks as well as other departments within the company in order to resolve outages and quality issues.

Work closely with Field Engineers during on-site maintenance activities providing support and documentation.

Provide guidance to Locals Engineering Technicians to confirm, troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies escalated by the TOC as well as train technicians to help work issues outside their scope and training level.

Generate process and update ELVIS database as well as the Locals Engineering database regarding local channel services.

Create concise detailed shift reports for use by other group members.

Develop a thorough understanding of the HD systems and their operation.

Perform engineering level work including software upgrades to digital gear.

Create and implement projects using timelines.

Establish a working knowledge of the uplink and the interaction between other departments as well as the fiber network between uplinks.

Self-motivation, attention to detail and assignment follow-through is essential.

Rotating shift work may be required.

Other duties may be assigned.

Engineering level projects and data analysis

Engineers solutions to equipment issues

Upgrades to existing equipment

Skills and Qualifications

Associates degree or equivalent from a two year college required or technical school in electronics, television broadcast communications or related field.

Technical aptitude and an advanced understanding of broadcasting and RF systems.

Candidate must be proficient with software such as Excel, Visio, Word and Project.

Attention to detail and thorough documentation is vital for success.

Must have good interpersonal skills and be willing to teach, train and support other team members

Additional Information:
Console operations, must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

Minimal 50 lbs lifting requirement.

Temperature controlled environment @ 68 deg. Work area has minimal lighting.
