DESCRIPTION

Identify, test and implement product development and improvement ideas.

DUTIES

  • Creates layouts in three-dimensional solids. Reviews layout options with team and makes recommendation on preferred direction
  • Utilizes supplier database geometry for standard purchased parts. Works with suppliers to co-develop long lead tooled part designs and select components to assure optimized system cost while minimizing tooling lead times
  • Develops detailed 2D part and assembly drawings from 3D unit model
  • Keeps layouts current as drawings are completed
  • Constructs parts as needed for prototypes. Assists in all builds including prototypes, pilot and initial production
  • Maintains, audits and corrects bills of materials
  • Assures the use of standard parts when developing design
  • Prepares test plans to prove design concepts. Tests unit performance per standard procedure and test plan and publishes report
  • Completes release documentation
  • Manages projects that either improve a product or modify a product to meet a specific customer need
QUALIFICATIONS

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering

2 years relevant experience

Must be able to maneuver ice machines for testing and weigh ice samples up to 50 pounds * Creates layouts in three-dimensional solids. Reviews layout options with team and makes recommendation on preferred direction
