Job Summary

The Associate Technician will be a member of the Golf Ball R & D Engineering Team responsible for daily activities pertaining to the fabrication of golf balls. This entry level position will require the candidate to have a strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn the operation of various golf ball related equipment, including, but not limited to, two roll mill, compression molding, insert grinding, injection molding, extrusion, and finishing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a team-first attitude and possess a proven track record of initiative and mechanical aptitude. The ideal candidate will be willing to be cross trained in different functions and will be expected to support in various golf ball fabrication processes within R & D.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Prepare samples and set up equipment in accordance with documented process sheets

· Operate R & D equipment according to SOPs or as trained by authorized personnel

· Support different golf ball fabrication processes depending upon business need

· Abide by safety regulations in all the equipment operating endeavors

· Document and report critical processing parameters, process issues, and special observations

· Communicate any anomalies observed in the material, product or equipment to the respective personnel

· Keep track of equipment and material related inventory and place orders for required spares and materials

· Maintain a high level of cleanliness of work areas in accordance with departmental cleanliness standards and product safety guidelines. This includes machine cleaning assignments

· Keep track of material and other inventory for all other labs, update quantities in the system and order parts/materials when they hit predetermined low quantities

· Prepare maintenance work orders and ensure compliance with Preventive Maintenance programs

· Assist in shipping product samples or tools by sorting, packaging and creating shippers

· Perform administrative duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Experience operating any type of industrial equipment (molding machines, mixing equipment, rubber processing equipment, extrusion equipment, etc.). Direct experience with golf ball fabrication equipment ideal.

· Good knowledge of mechanical parts and tools

· Ability to multitask and work under deadlines and timeframes

· Basic knowledge of computers, data entry, Microsoft word and excel

· Ability to read and understand work orders and design sheets

· Excellent organization skills and ability to maintain clean working environment

Education and/or Experience

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Experience as a mechanical technician preferred
