Ordering circuits by issuing an ASR in the telecom providers electronic systems, to include trunking, Ethernet services, TDM services, 911 circuits and updating Granite
  • Work closely with the engineers to ensure Granite accuracy and path assignment
  • Validate telecom vendor invoices against contractual rates/discounts/monthly usage measurements
  • Reconcile discrepancies by documenting errors; ensuring credits are received
  • Participate in quarterly vendor management meetings
  • Process timely payments via PeopleSoft with allocation of charges to the proper account codes
  • Work with AP, follows month-end close procedures, prepares accruals, and verifies amounts posted in GL
  • Produce monthly reports on telecom expense trends and quantifies monthly savings realized as a result of thorough invoice review
  • Extracts usage data from the traffic monitoring system, Watchmark
  • Analyze data and produces weekly utilization reports
  • Modify trunk forecast to reflect changes in traffic patterns
  • Place circuit orders with Local Exchange Carriers and Interexchange Carriers
  • Coordinate circuit installation between vendor and Operations personnel
  • Track order status and escalate as required to insure timely completion
  • Assign equipment and facilities in the circuit inventory system, Granite
  • Utilize the Industry’s Local Exchange Routing Guide (LERG) to determine proper routing of new cellular and landline codes and resolve trouble reports
  • Analyze capacity requirements associated with landline tandem rehomes and cellular switch cutovers
  • Required Skills:
    • Associates Degree
    • 1 -2 years of experience in cellular or telecommunication industry
    • Previous experience with:
      • Granite/Xng
      • Invoice processing
      • Coding procedures
      • PeopleSoft
      • ASR ordering
      • Circuit re-grooms
    • General understanding and or working knowledge in one or more of the following platforms and/or technologies:
      • Telecom experience including: T1, DACS, OMP
      • Voice switch infrastructure including: Lucent 5E and ECP, Motorola MGX, and Nortel MTX
      • Digital Communications including: DS1, DS3, Fiber, ISDN
      • Data communications including: routers, switches, Ethernet, hubs, TCP/IP, ATM, Frame Relay, SS7, Ethernet to the cell
      • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office
    Preferred Experience & Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Microwave experience is a plus including: Nortel RD6 & 11, NEC OC3 Series 3000 radios
