is one of the largest wholesale generators of electric power in the U.S and is the largest generator in North America of renewable energy from the wind and sun.
Under general supervision, majority of time will be spent starting cranes & observing mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems. Position also includes operating 10K telescopic forklift to assist in the assembly/disassembly of the GRS cranes.
Other duties include:
-- Checking all fluids in all equipment both NEER and rented such as motor oil, water, anti-freeze, and hydraulic fluids.
-- This position requires 100% travel. Rotation home can be every 4 to 6 weeks depending on the job needs.
-- Dismantling machines and removing parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes or hoists.
-- Lubricating or applying adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedure.
-- Cleaning windows in all equipment inside and out.
-- Reassembling machines after the completion of needed maintenance.
-- Working with crane crew leader in moving crane pads and dunnage to specified areas to work with in placing crane parts.
-- Assisting in the moving and handling of objects using hands and arms to install, position, manipulate and move materials.
-- Performing general physical activities such climbing onto crane, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
-- Repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment, especially moving parts that require lubrication and maintaining their functionality.
-- Assisting in loading and unloading of crane parts onto trucks for transportation of cranes around the country.
-- Helping with rigging for all crane parts when loading and unloading from carrier trucks.
-- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Class A CDL and verifiable Manitowoc erection experience preferred.
Two (2) year vocational or technical degree preferred.
