The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), Legal Department, is searching for a temporary, entry to mid-level lawyer with real world commercial experience to join its in-house Transactions Practice Team.
The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning commission (M-NCPPC) is a first-in-class regional agency with more than 60,000 acres of public property under stewardship for the citizens of Maryland in Prince George's and Montgomery counties.

The ideal candidate will have experience in assisting with structuring and closing dozens of creative real estate deals. The Office of the General Counsel emphasizes preventive collaboration to support client decision making and grow legal competencies throughout M-NCPPC; so excellent communication skills are a must.
The successful candidate will have the ability to translate technical legal concepts into oral and written expressions that connect with the intended audience. A confident stature in public settings is imperative as the work may require interaction with the Montgomery and Prince George's County Planning Boards and with elected and appointed officials or their staffs at the state and local levels.
The portfolio of work for the selected candidate will include commercial lease arrangements, real estate acquisitions, procurement and construction contracts, private concessions in public buildings, and very complex public-private development partnerships.
1. Graduate law degree.
2. License to practice law in state of Maryland.
3. Valid Maryland driver's license or the ability to acquire one.
This is a temporary contract position that does not offer benefits. This position has a term of approximately 8 months, extensions are possible.
