The AGC works with our CFO, General Counsel and the Finance team to negotiate and successfully close multiple tax equity and other project funds, negotiate strategic and tactical agreements and support corporate investment activity and strategic expansion initiatives.

Drafting/reviewing and negotiating strategic and tactical agreements, including master supply agreements, channel partnerships, vendor agreements, and consulting agreements.
Supporting corporate investment activity and strategic expansion initiatives
Maintaining corporate formalities, entities and records, including assuming the responsibilities of Assistant Corporate Secretary
Advising business colleagues on contract and legal matters, including sales, marketing, vendor, business/professional licensing and insurance issues
Creating and improving standard templates, developing and rolling out policies, and providing associated training
Protecting Sungevity’s intellectual property
Working with outside counsel
J.D. from a top-tier law school and a current license to practice law, preferably in California
At least 4 to 6 years legal experience either in-house or at a reputable law firm with an emphasis on negotiating tax equity and/or project finance deals
Experience with one or more of the following areas of law: consumer or equipment leasing, construction law, energy projects (especially renewable energy), privately-held technology start-ups, software development, online sales, and/or utility regulations
A pragmatic business mind, including well-developed instincts on making a judgment call yourself versus escalating an issue
Demonstrated negotiation skills and superior organizational, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work independently, efficiently and proactively on multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining sense of humor and commitment to quality
Proven track record of working in teams of similarly driven peers and counterparties to create efficient processes and to get issues resolved across organizational boundaries
A strong work ethic and ability to stretch beyond your comfort zone to learn and lead in new areas
