The Information Technology Department is looking to add an Associate Project Manager . This Associate Project Manager is one who is highly-intelligent, driven, detail-oriented, a strong analytical problem solver, and a proactive leader with a strong understanding of business processes and concepts. Our Associate Project Manager will apply Project Management methodology, tools and techniques to manage sub-group(s) of a larger project and will manage small independent projects. You will be responsible for delivering defined project outcomes on-time, within budget and with quality results. In addition, you will be responsible for oversight of special projects and will provide administrative support as needed. Responsibilities Include:
Under direct supervision, oversees small projects or phases of a larger project.
Responsible for coordinating activities of a project team, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of the project.
Assists with creation of RFP when needed.
Experience working with vendors on project efforts.
Works as part of a matrix team.
Applies Project Management methodology, tools and techniques.
Collaborates with the various teams, development and quality assurance teams and works closely with the business leaders and subject matter experts to ensure the project is delivered on time. Requirements Include:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline preferred.
3-5 years of IT work experience, including 1 or more years managing projects.
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with senior management as well as business and IT subject matter experts
Experience in working as a liaison between IT and business end users
Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions
Demonstrated competency in Project Management processes, tools and techniques.
Strong presentation and communication skills with business/financial acumen.
Strong analytical thinking and decision-making.
Must have a strategic orientation and be results driven.
Experience working in the Insurance, Financial, or Telecommunication industry is preferred
Strong organizational and computer skills. Experience with MS Project is a plus
