The University of Northern Iowa seeks an Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs beginning July 2013. This position requires a terminal degree and an academic record worthy of tenure at the Associate Professor level (Full preferred) in a department at the University of Northern Iowa; at least five years of experience in higher education administration; knowledge and skills in program planning, project management, and academic administration; evidence of successful collaboration with campus-wide constituencies; ability to handle sensitive situations and information with discretion; evidence of experience with college/university personnel issues, development of policies and procedures, as well as knowledge of current trends in higher education; outstanding communication skills in writing, speaking, and listening; evidence of participation in professional development opportunities; commitment to affirmative action and equal opportunity procedures and principles, and evidence of a dedication to working with diverse populations; and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a team.
