Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost

The University of Northern Iowa invites applications for the position of Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs. The Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs serves on the Academic Affairs Council, and collaborates closely with members of that council. The Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs provides personnel support to the Academic Affairs division; enhances coordination of administrative processes and procedures for faculty recruitment, retention, and recognition; serves as division liaison on personnel matters; assists with implementation and communication of academic personnel policies and procedures; provides employee relations support; provides advice on collective bargaining agreement; and serves as Academic Affairs representative on academic space issues.

The position requires a terminal degree and an academic record worthy of tenure at the Associate Professor level (full preferred) in a department at the University of Northern Iowa; at least five years of experience in higher education administration; knowledge and skills in program planning, project management, and academic administration; evidence of successful collaboration with campus-wide constituencies; ability to handle sensitive situations and information with discretion; evidence of experience with college/university personnel issues, development of policies and procedures as well as current trends in higher education; outstanding communication skills in writing, speaking, and listening; evidence of participation in professional development opportunities; commitment to affirmative action and equal opportunity procedures and principles, and evidence of a dedication to working with diverse populations; and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a team.
