Alcon currently has an opening in Johns Creek, Georgia (North Atlanta) for an ASSOCIATE RESEARCH SCIENTIST.

The Associate Research Scientist is responsible for formulation research into new contact lens, saline and contact lens care products including multipurpose solutions (MPS) and peroxide based systems.

 Contact lens, package saline, and contact lens care solution formulation work including statistical design of experiments
 Screen novel materials for their performance in lens, saline, and lens care product formulations
 Identify novel preservative/anti-microbial systems with improved biocompatibility
 Identify novel additives to provide improved contact lens cleaning efficacy and comfort
 Identify and execute appropriate testing funnels to evaluate potential new contact lenses, lens surfaces, package salines and lens care products

 Identify new potential lens, saline, and lens care projects
 Successful project elevations for contact lenses and contact lens care ideas and projects Minimum requirements EDUCATION:
  • Bachelors degree or higher in a scientific discipline
  • Formulation experience with lens care multipurpose and/or peroxide solutions desired
  • Formulation experience with both organic solvent and aqueous polymer systems
  • Must be able to write reports and communicate well to internal customers.
  • MS Technical Discipline w/2 Yrs Experience
  • BS Technical Discipline w/4 Yrs Experience
