This position administers occupational safety and health programs for Retail and Marketing business units to prevent accidents and reduce cost of claims and internal/external losses. This position also works with all levels to drive performance excellence in safety and health, and assists with development of training and compliance tools for field personnel. This position will be based at our Auburn, Washington office.
Provides input into training and compliance tools such as written procedures, checklists for inspection and site audits. Delivers training on safety awareness program.
Serves as role model for health and safety actively championing and reinforcing Tesoro's health and safety expectations. Mentors and coaches retail staffs on safe behaviors and hazard identification and mitigation through routine interactions, training and consultation. Assists as needed to incident investigation.
Assists regional operations management with monitoring program implementation through performance indicators and hazard identification during joint store inspections. Coordinates and conducts safety incident investigations. Advises on ways to reduce risk of future occurrences.
Maintains knowledge of federal/state/local health and safety regulations impacting retail facilities. Advises management on recommended action to ensure compliance.
Ensures retail facilities have emergency response plans. Coordinates emergency response to safety and security incidents.
Minimum Associates degree in health or safety-related discipline required.
Minimum 2 years experience in developing and implementing health and safety programs required.
Travel estimated @ 60%.
