MedImmune has an opening for an Associate Scientist I/II in Gaithersburg, MD. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out cell based assay testing of recombinant protein therapeutics in development area. The candidate will take an important role in the development, optimization, and qualifying of a wide variety of cell-based assays. The successful candidate will be expected to make detailed observations, analyze data, interpret results, as well as carry out routine assays. Preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols, and technical summaries for presentation is required. The candidate would be expected to perform mammalian cell culture and to maintain several cell lines. The ability to follow SOPs, policies and regulations, and to perform routine lab equipment maintenance are critical skills. Presents findings at internal and/or external meetings, serves as mentor and positive role model to other lab personnel, Good time management and organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced team-centered environment, and outstanding multi-tasking abilities are a must.


BS degree with 5-12 years, MS degree with 2-6 years relevant experience. Those with prior experience with cell culture and cell-based assays experience will be shown preference.

BS or MS in a Biological Science.
