The Associate Scientist I will conduct laboratory work using conventional analytical techniques and instrumental analysis to demonstrate purity and structurally characterize protein products. This analysis will support method and process transfer, development, stability studies, clinical trials and new research activities.

-Perform analytical methods for testing protein purity and stability and structural characterization, such as HPLC (Agilent and ChemStation experience highly desirable), traditional gel and capillary electrophoresis, scanning densitometry, plate-based assays, spectroscopy, ELISA or colorimetric plate-based assays, etc.
-Use general analytical laboratory methods, including buffer prep, use of pipets and other general lab equipment, use of SOPs and documentation according to cGMP.
-Maintain and troubleshoot analytical equipment, familiarity with computer systems/networking.
-Accurate record keeping and timely communication of results to project team members.
-Organize/analyze/interpret data; Organize experimental results and prepare protocols, reports and presentations for both internal and external use.
-Communicate and multitask across functional groups/experiments/projects to meet changing priorities; communicate experimental procedures and results to peers and senior management.
-Work independently as well as in a team environment.

Type/keyboard, visual acuity, good eye/hand coordination, hand dexterity, bend, squat/kneel, sense of feel, sense of hearing, sense of smell, lift/carry 20 lbs. Use phone, fax, copier, and computer. Use hand tools and operate fork lift. Organize/coordinate, analyze/interpret, calibrate precise measurements, problem solve, make decisions, supervise, plan, communicate, prepare written communications, and prepare transaction documents.

Requisition Requirements:

Bachelors or Masters Degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of four years of related experience required -Significant experience with analytical methods for testing protein purity and stability and structural characterization, such as HPLC (Agilent and Chemstation experience highly desirable), traditional gel and capillary electrophoresis, scanning densitometry, plate-based assays, spectroscopy, ELISA or colorimetric plate-based assays, etc. -Extensive experience with general analytical laboratory methods, including buffer prep, use of pipets and other general lab equipment, use of SOPs and documentation according to cGMP. -Ability to maintain and troubleshoot analytical equipment and familiarity with multiple computer systems/networking and vendor instrumentation software. -Accurate record keeping and timely communication of results to project team members. -Excellent organizational and data analysis/interpretation skills; Organize experimental results and prepare protocols, reports and presentations for both internal and external use. -Strong interpersonal communication skills; Ability to communicate and multitask across functional groups/experiments/projects to meet changing priorities; Proven ability to communicate experimental procedures and results to peers and senior management. -Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Other Desirable Skills : -Familiarity with cGMP, Regulatory, Quality is highly desirable -Utilization of DOE/statistical analysis -Protein structural analysis methodology, e.g. DSC, CD, MFI
