Job Summary

This position will report into the Deploy Central Stability Lab for Personal Care products in Trumbull, CT. The Central Stability Lab manages and conducts approximately 1500 stability studies per year for the Hair, Skin, and AP-DEO categories. The role of the Central Stability Lab is to ensure the integrity of our products over the intended shelf life, by conducting accelerated storage testing following established protocols, and reporting results directly to the Deploy Product Development groups. The ideal candidate for this position must possess the ability to “flow to the work”, and work in a fast paced environment. They must be able to balance multiple projects, determine priorities, and work where needed. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, eager to learn new skills, and possess both a solid technical background and computer aptitude.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the incoming flow of both OTC and non-OTC Stability Requests: a.Review incoming study requests for conformance to policy. This may include but is not limited to: correct number of samples submitted, correct submission form, submission form filled out accurately and entirely, protocols selected are appropriate, and manager has authorized additional testing. b.Resolve issues with Development Scientists if incoming requests are not in conformance with policy, to ensure studies are set up correctly and in a timely manner. c.Raise issues with manager if testing appears out of scope, out of conformance, or excessive, based on policy. d.Liaise with Analytical scientists to determine if methods have been developed for incoming studies, and communicate back to Development as needed. e.Create study requests in the LIMS system (Radmis) following designated protocols, for both OTC and non-OTC stability studies. f.Label samples and set up in designated stability chambers. g.Manage the incoming workflow in a way that balances both efficiency (amount of daily work conducted in the lab) and on time in full (OTIF) results. LIMS Administrator: a.Develop the ability to customize study requests within the LIMS system to meet request requirements. This may include but is not limited to adding or removing times, conditions, or tests within both new and existing studies. b.Work with the Analytical Measurement Science (AMS) LIMS administrator as necessary to resolve issues or for ad-hoc projects. c.Serve as the main point of contact for R&D I&T, as necessary, for consultation and implementation of new IT systems or automation. d.Generate reports and data as necessary for management or technical staff. Laboratory Testing : a.Conduct basic stability testing, including but not limited to: color, odor, appearance, pH, viscosity, and penetration for OTC and non-OTC stability studies. b.Conduct calibration and standardization of laboratory equipment. c.Physically manage samples and housekeeping of stability storage chambers. d.The ability to learn and conduct new physical and analytical testing methodology as required. Workflow Efficiency: This position will be expected to continually evaluate the work flow within the lab and be able to recommend and implement process improvements as necessary

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a science or engineering. Chemistry or Biology preferred and minimum of 1-5 years experience in a laboratory setting. Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications. High proficient in Radmis and knowledge of Interspec desired. Must have demonmstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects, be detail oriented, accurate and well organized with analytical with an aptitude for problem solving. A quick learner and self-starter whose able to work independently and perform well under pressure while working with different projects at once and meeting deadlines.Able to work with a variety of people: High degree of interpersonal skills, positive attitude and professional conduct.
