Position Description

Entry Level member of software testing supporting automated test system development and automated tests.

Position Responsibilities

Develops automated test tools using solid software design and development methodologies.
Works with users of the automation tools to determine needs, establish requirements and develop solutions.
Executes software test procedures and interprets/analyzes results to report and communicate software defects. Works under supervision of more senior test engineers.
Understands and follows internal standard procedures (SOP/DOP) related to software development and test processes.
Understands end user and product usage scenarios for reference while executing software test procedures.

Technical competencies:
Knowledge of object oriented design
Intermediate JavaScript skills including an understanding of lambdas and closure
Basic knowledge of software V&V practices & techniques, and software engineering processes
Applies rudimentary understanding of test plans to execute assigned tests
Applies rudimentary understanding of test designs to develop simple test cases
Demonstrates basic awareness of test process and knowledge of problem solving concepts
Ability to apply understanding of software development methods and programming to develop test harnesses and perform component-level or embedded testing.

Basic Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university

WORK EXPERIENCE:
3+ months of relevant experience (projects, coursework, internships)

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Basic knowledge of object oriented software development
Basic knowledge of software V&V practices & techniques, and software engineering processes

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor degree in a technical major (i.e. Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Automation, etc.)
Strong analytical, prioritization, organizational, and problem solving skills. Prior experience with software development. Ability and willingness to travel (including outside the U.S.) up to 10%
Basic knowledge of software V&V methods for safety critical, fault tolerant real-time software, and embedded software engineering and formal qualification process.
