We are looking for an eager and energetic person to join our Burlington office. In support of our next-generation IP services the Associate Technical Project Manager is responsible for guiding the development and on-boarding of IP Network Management Tools and processes. As part of our Service Design and Transition team the candidate will work on comprehensive network management and service activation solutions in emerging IPX and LTE environments.

The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years professional background in IP Networking, Telecommunications, and exposure to Project Management. This position offers a career path for someone with demonstrated technical capability to grow into an effective project manager and leader in the company.

Responsibilities
  • Add value to project effectiveness based on technical knowledge of including design, documentation, and requirements development
  • Primary support for Senior Project Manager throughout the full lifecycle (planning, scoping, budgeting, execution, and service delivery)
  • Participate in defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria that support business objectives in collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Support the development of full-scale project plans including work breakdown structure, member responsibilities, and associated communications documents
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Successfully estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Determine and assess need for additional iBasis or customer staff and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members, customers, and stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans
  • Help improve internal tools and processes
Desired Skills & Experience
  • College Graduate preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, or Project Management
  • Experience in IP networking mandatory
  • 2-4 years experience in telecommunications and mobile space strongly preferred
  • 2-4 years in project management experience in a Telecommunications environment
  • Familiar with standard project management tools and processes
  • Technical Industry certifications in Telecommunications or IP Networking a plus
  • PMP, Prince 2, or ITIL certifications a strong plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem solver who goes the extra mile to get results
  • Organized team player
  • Proficient in MS Office programs & project management software (MS Project and Primavera)
  • Positive attitude towards work assigned while continuously striving to deliver best-in-class results
