The University of Indianapolis is accepting applications for an Associate Vice President for its new Professional Edge Center. This is a full-time, exempt-staff position.
The Associate Vice President for the Professional Edge Center will be instrumental in creating and developing this new entity at the University of Indianapolis and will lead and direct a staff of 10 while engaging alumni and business leaders in the activities of the center. Created through the merger of three existing offices that serve alumni and students, the center will implement a curricular framework of courses, seminars, alumni engagement, community engagement, mentoring, and career experiences that will provide students with a professional edge along with their degree, or allow them to pursue creation of their own business. We are seeking an excellent communicator with experience in business outreach. The ideal applicant will be familiar with the higher education environment and understand the role of the liberal arts in career preparation.
Qualifications: bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred. The successful candidate will have five to seven years of leadership experience in a professional setting, and outstanding written and verbal skills with experience in executive-level presentations. The successful candidate will be one that can engage, coach, inspire, and provide vision to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and local business and professional community members, and should have demonstrably successful experience in managing and developing staff, programs, projects, and volunteers while being comfortable with all aspects of leading a new departmental enterprise.
