The College of Medicine at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, Florida invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Vice President for Health and Information Technologies.UCF is a growing metropolitan research university with nearly 60,000 students enrolled in 177 bachelor†s and master†s degrees, 31 doctoral programs, a M.D. and GME programs, an operating budget of $1.4 billion, research funding of $128.9 million, and an endowment of $125.7 million.The College of Medicine (COM) was established in 2006, and the M.D. program received full accreditation and graduated its charter class in May 2013. COM was approved by ACGME to establish an Internal Medicine program with 60 positions starting in 2014. The college also includes undergraduate and graduate programs in biomedical sciences and biotechnology and has a multispecialty clinic, UCF Pegasus Health, which serves as the faculty practice plan. Reporting to the dean of the College of Medicine and vice president for medical affairs, the associate vice president for health and information technologies (AVPHIT) is the senior advisor to the dean and vice president on all health and information technology matters and is the principal liaison between the College of Medicine and the related information technology offices and staff of the University of Central Florida. The AVPHIT will provide the strategic and operational leadership for all information technology services in support of the college and various clinical initiatives, and will ensure that the technology needs of the college and its clinics are met with the highest levels of value and satisfaction. The AVPHIT is responsible for information technology planning, systems, equipment and infrastructure, and the Harriet F. Ginsburg Health Sciences Library. UCF seeks an accomplished administrator with a track record of creating and managing the technology enterprise supporting the operations of a complex academic and health care organization. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor†s degree with a master†s degree or other advanced degree preferred and a minimum of ten years† experience in information technology leadership, including five years in a senior IT management role, with significant health care IT experience highly preferred. Experience in an academic setting with direct management of a major IT operation is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills, commitment to collaborative working relationships with various constituencies, strong support of diversity, and ability to execute are also desired.Witt/Kieffer has been retained by the University of Central Florida College of Medicine to assist in this recruitment.
